A Kansas City man has been sentenced to 17 years in prison after a drunk driving accident left a 22-year-old woman dead.

The accident occurred in August 2010 when the 27-year-old man was driving at a speed of 152 miles per hour and he rear-ended the vehicle that the woman was in. The collision caused the woman’s vehicle to travel nearly 430 feet.

The man plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and assault. The 22-year-old woman was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver of that vehicle was transported to the hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
