According to a recent survey, the number of workplace injuries that occurred in Kansas in 2009 have decreased by nearly 12 percent.
The data was collected by the Survey of Occupational Injuries and Illnesses and was conducted by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Kansas Department of Labor. The survey selected 3,500 random Kansas employees.
After the survey was done, it was found that there were 38,200 nonfatal injuries and illnesses that occurred in the private industry in 2009. This is down from 43,400 that occurred in 2008.
