The parents of a 15-year-old boy who was killed after he drank two Four Lokos, became paranoid and ran into the street where he was fatally struck by a vehicle, are now filing a wrongful death lawsuit against Phusion Projects, the makers of the product.
According to the suit, the Virginia teen and his friends bought the beverages at a convenient store before a concert. The teen drank two of them and was kicked out of the concert because he was intoxicated.
His mother picked him up and said that he became paranoid while she was driving and he jumped out of the car and was struck by an SUV. He was pronounced dead the next day.
His parents claim that the teen did not know what affects the drink would have on him before he drank them. The potent beverage is equivalent to approximately five beers and has as much caffeine as a Starbucks coffee, which helps to mask the alcoholic effects.
