Nearby residents of Kansas City gathered in the downtown area yesterday, the tax day deadline, in order to protest the tax day claiming that corporations should pay their fair part in taxes.
The protest occurred near the Kansas City Power & Light, AMC Theaters, Bank of America and Computer Sciences Corp. This demonstration was just one of protesting events that occurred across the nation.
According to the Kansas City Star, organizers stated that they did not want any arrest to be made, but they just wanted their message of “fair tax” to be spread. KCP&L has stated that they pay all of the taxes that they are required to by the federal law.
