A  teenage boy was struck and killed after a train accident occurred in downtown Kirkwood on Wednesday.

According to St. Louis Today, the Cameron Vineyard boy was walking on the tracks and listening to music with his headphones on when the train approached him. The train sounded the horn, but was unable to come to a stop.

By the time the boy heard the horn, he was unable to move out of the way of the train. The boy was then transported to Mercy Hospital where he pronounced dead just a little over an hour after the accident occurred. The 14-year-old boy was heading downtown when the accident occurred.
