A car and school bus accident in Kansas City left two people in the hospital with minor injuries.

According to authorities in the area, the accident occurred on U.S. 71 just after 2:30 p.m. when a school bus, which was traveling with two students, struck a car. Initial claims into the accident stated that the car overturned in the roadway right in front of the bus and the driver was not able to stop in time.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital in order to be treated for injuries. The bus driver was also taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons because she is pregnant. Another student, who officials think suffered an asthma attack, also went to a local hospital.
