Two years after a 19-year-old student at Kansas University was found dead from alcohol poisoning, a wrongful death suit filed by his father has almost reached a settlement.
The 19-year-old was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at KU and was found dead at their chapter house. The wrongful death suit is against the SAE national association, the Kansas Alpha House Corp, the SAE chapter and 10 unnamed members of the chapter.
According to the suit, the 10 unnamed members failed to get medical help for the student even though he was heavily intoxicated and suffered a head injury. The teen purchased alcohol at a restaurant with a fake I.D. then went back to the house and continued drinking. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.362.
Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.
