Three passengers were injured in a one-car accident about nine miles north of Topeka on Friday night.

The car was traveling on US Highway 75 when a dog ran into the southbound lanes around N.W. 86th Street. The driver of the vehicle swerved to avoid hitting the dog, causing the car to run off the road and into a ditch.

According to Kansas Highway Patrol, the three passengers involved in the accident were taken to the Stormont-Vail Regional Heath Center. It is reported that although the passengers sustained injuries from the accident, they are not life-threatening.
