Premium car maker, BMW AG, has announced the recall of nearly 1.3 million vehicles for a possible issue with the battery cable cover that is in the trunk.

The affected vehicles include the 5-and 6-series BMW that were manufactured from 2003 to 2010. The defective battery cable may result in a the malfunctioning of the electrical system. This can then lead to the vehicle not being able to start or in some cases, a fire could occur.

The company has said that they are not aware of injuries occurring from this issue and less then 1 percent of the cars that BMW has inspected has experienced this problem. It has been said that the repair will take between 30 minutes to an hour and will be free of charge.
