Toyota is recalling over seven million vehicles of nearly a dozen models worldwide in order to fix a fire hazard in power window switches, NASDAQ reports. The recall encompasses vehicles made between 2005 and 2010 that were sold in the United States, Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada, and parts of the Middle East.

Within North America, 2.47 million vehicles are affected by the recall including the Camry, RAV4, Corolla, Yaris, Matrix, Scion xB and xD, Tundra, Highlander, and Sequoia. No accidents or injuries have been reported in relation to the defect, despite the issue being known more for more than four years.

Millions of Toyota vehicles have been recalled in the past few years, with another global recall announced in September 2009 of nearly four million cars. The automaker has surpassed all other companies for the most vehicles recalled; Toyota has issued 20 recalls affecting more than 15 million cars since November 2009.
