Two people were transported to the hospital after a car accident occurred on Kansas 5.
According to the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred just after 11 p.m. at the intersection of K-5 and 119th Street when a 23-year-old Kansas City man was traveling west and swerved to avoid hitting a vehicle that was in his lane.
After swerving, the driver overcorrected the vehicle and this caused it to flip and turn over into a ditch on the side of the road. The man and his 22-year-old female passenger were transported to the hospital to be treated. The other two passengers, a 3-year-old boy and 7-month-old girl, were not injured in the accident.
