Kansas City Police are currently investigating a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that occurred last week.

According to witnesses, a van was driving erratically on the roadway and swerving in and out of the lanes of traffic when it jumped  the curb and struck a 19-year-old man that was walking on the sidewalk.

Witnesses believe that the driver was trying to avoid hitting the car in front of him when he swerved onto the curb. The van did not stay at the scene after striking the teen. The victim was  transported to the hospital to be treated and it is thought that he will make a full recovery.
